Privacy Policy — Ö-Test

Last updated: 9 June 2026

Summary

Ö-Test is a practice app for Austrian exam questions. We do not require an account, we do not run our own analytics, and we operate no server that collects your data. The app shows ads, and the ad provider (Google) collects certain data as described below.

Data stored on your device only

Your exam progress and app settings are saved locally on your device (browser localStorage / app storage). This data never leaves your device, is not accessible to us, and is deleted when you clear the app data or uninstall the app.

Advertising (Google AdMob & AdSense)

To keep the app free we display ads via Google AdMob (Android app) and Google AdSense (website). For ad delivery and measurement, Google may process:

Google acts as an independent data controller for this processing. See Google's Privacy Policy and “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services”.

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, and opt out of personalised ads, in Android under Settings → Privacy → Ads. On the web you can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.

Legal basis (GDPR)

Local storage of your settings and progress relies on our legitimate interest in providing app functionality (Art. 6(1)(f)). Personalised advertising relies on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) where required; otherwise non-personalised ads are shown on the basis of legitimate interest.

Children

This app is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and objection regarding your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde, www.dsb.gv.at). Because we store no personal data ourselves, requests about advertising data should also be directed to Google.
